After reading Chapter 1, there are definitely certain things about this text I do, and do not enjoy. I felt the beginning wasn't really a beginning, I would've liked to have seen maybe a little bit of a recap as to where the film left off so that readers were reminded of exactly what happened when we last saw the characters. However I felt that the story itself (or the first chapter anyway) was well written. I believe the author had a good sense of the original plot-line, setting and time that the story was taking place albeit a sort of lead-in would’ve been nice to new or younger readers. I would also have liked to have seen the other characters (Mr Bingley and Jane for example) more prominent in this scene. Elizabeth was one of the many people fighting the horde and in this text and to me personally, I feel the author isolated her.
